What year can my child attend?

Manly Community Kindergarten offers an approved kindergarten program for children aged 3.5 to 4.5 years. Children should turn 4 by the 30th June in the year they will be attending Manly Kindy. See the table below to determine when your child is eligible to attend Manly Community Kindergarten.

• 1 July 2019 – 30 June 2020 – Kindergarten Year 2024
• 1 July 2020 – 30 June 2021 – Kindergarten Year 2025
• 1 July 2021 – 30 June 2022 – Kindergarten Year 2026
• 1 July 2022 – 30 June 2023 – Kindergarten Year 2027
• 1 July 2023 – 30 June 2024 – Kindergarten Year 2028

Families of children offered a place at Manly Community Kindergarten will be contacted from August onwards in the year before their child is due to attend.

If for any reason your child may need special assistance, please notify the centre as early as possible, so that planning can occur for facilities or funding to best support the needs of your child.

Fees

Fees are set by the Committee each year. Manly Community Kindergarten receives a government subsidy, which allows fees to be kept to a minimum. In addition the fundraising by parents assists to keeps fees to a minimum. There are generous discounted fees for Health Care Card Holders. As a not-for-profit centre, all funds are reinvested back into the kindy to give your child the best educational experience.

Families will be provided with a detailed statement of fees prior to the start of each new term. The current fees are:

Enrolment fee: $100 payable when a place is formally offered to your child. This includes membership of the Manly Community Kindergarten Association.

Attendance fee: $39.50/day to cover the cost of attending the kindy. Fees are payable for days absent, including any holidays taken during the term, public holidays and pupil free days.

Building fund: $30/term to fund repairs and maintenance of the building (tax deductible).
