Our wonderful teachers have university qualifications in Early Childhood Education and are registered with the Queensland College of Teachers. Our assistant, Vicki Allen, has a Certificate III and has been working at Manly Community Kindergarten for over 28 years. All staff have Senior First Aid/CPR, Anaphylaxis/Asthma Management training and hold Blue Cards. In order to keep up to date with current best practice in early childhood education, our teachers engage in a range of professional development experiences and go ‘above and beyond’ to give their very best to the children in their care.

Vicki Allen – Educator

My work as Educator at Manly Community Kindergarten began in 1995. These years at the kindy have been incredibly rewarding.  My passion in this job is to provide children with an inviting environment where they can feel safe and secure while nurturing them to become more confident and resilient. I believe in providing play experiences that give children the opportunity to develop their fullest potential and to learn to “have a go”  while helping them navigate the social and emotional terrain of their age.  The best part of this job is to see the look on a child’s face when they have achieved even the smallest thing.

Ruth Czislowski – Early Childhood Teacher

I am an enthusiastic Early Childhood Teacher with over 25 years’ experience working in long day care and more recently in community kindergarten and school settings. I am passionate about my work with young children and their families.  I see young children as capable, active and competent learners and believe together we are on a journey of lifelong learning. I am looking forward to working with your children and families and I hope that we enjoy the journey together.

Karen Lane – Educator

I originate from the north east coast of Scotland but in 2002 my husband and I made the decision to call Australia home. I worked in the medical sector for a number of years before taking time off to raise our 3 daughters, all of whom incidentally attended Manly Community Kindergarten. In 2015, I studied for a Certificate III in Education Support and found that I enjoyed working with pre-school children most of all. It’s such a pleasure discovering individual strengths and talents and nurturing those qualities. I am looking forward to working with your beautiful children. It truly is a joy coming to work.

Kiera Rice – Early Childhood Teacher and Service Manager

I began my journey working with children in early childhood and primary school settings almost a decade ago. It brings me great joy when you see a child’s confidence grow and develop over time. I see children as capable and competent beings and with the right tools they can reach their potential. Early childhood is a crucial time and I’m so grateful to be part of this time in their lives. Learning through play and developing relationships is one of the few things that makes the early years so magical.

I look forward to meeting the children and families and having a wonderful year ahead.
